- Why It Matters

Hearing aids do more than restore sound.

The patients who come into Sidney Sound are rarely here just to hear better. They want to hear their grandkids on the phone again. To stop nodding through dinner conversations. To feel less exhausted at the end of the day from working so hard to follow along.

Modern hearing aids are remarkable. They don’t just amplify sound. They analyze your environment, separate speech from noise, and adjust in real time so the people around you come back into focus.

Our job is to make sure the device matches your hearing, your lifestyle, and what matters most to you. The technology is the tool. The outcome is the conversation.

- Our Process

How we find the right hearing aid for you

1

Comprehensive hearing evaluation

We start with a full diagnostic test to understand the exact nature and degree of your hearing loss, not just a quick screening. About 60 minutes.

2

Lifestyle assessment

Where you spend time. What you struggle to hear. What activities matter most. This shapes every recommendation, not just the audiogram numbers.

3

Technology matching

Your specialist walks you through devices that match your hearing profile, lifestyle needs, and budget.

4

Custom fitting

We program your devices for your exact hearing profile and walk you through every feature so you leave confident.

5

Risk-free trial and follow-up

Two weeks of real-life use, then check-ins at one, three, six months, and your one-year recheck. Always included.

One thing patients wish they’d known sooner

Modern hearing aids feel different than the ones your parents had. They’re smaller, more natural-sounding, and many are nearly invisible. The single biggest predictor of success is how soon you start. Don’t wait until your hearing has changed how you live — come in for a screening, no commitment.

- FAQ

Your hearing aid questions, answered.

How much do hearing aids cost?

Cost depends on the technology level you choose, and there’s a real range. Every fitting here includes the evaluation, programming, and the follow-up visits that come after, because a device that’s not adjusted properly won’t help you. We go through exact pricing together at your consultation, and financing is available.

Which brands do you carry?

Signia, Widex, Oticon, Starkey, and GN ReSound. Because we’re independent, we fit the brand that suits your hearing and your budget rather than whatever we’re contracted to push. Some brands simply perform better for certain kinds of hearing loss, and that’s the whole reason to carry more than one.

Can I try them before I commit?

Yes. After your fitting you take them out into your actual life for two weeks, restaurants and phone calls and church and all of it. Then you come back and we fine-tune based on what really happened, not what should have happened in a quiet office.

How long will a pair last?

Most patients get five to seven years. Moisture and earwax are what usually shorten that, so we handle cleanings, wax guards, and repairs here in the office. Bring them in for a check any time something sounds off.

Will my insurance cover any of it?

Sometimes. We accept Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, WellPoint, and Cigna, and coverage for devices varies quite a bit between plans. We verify your specific benefits before your appointment so the number you hear from us is the real one.

Come meet us in person
